Delightful Florida Recreation, LLC (“DFR,” “we,” “us”) builds native iOS navigation and reference apps for Florida boaters and anglers. This policy explains, in plain terms, what our apps do and do not do with information.

1. Information the app uses

The apps are designed to function without collecting personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials, because there are no accounts.

Voluntary email and SMS support

If you email or text customer support, DFR receives the address or phone number you used, your message, and ordinary delivery metadata so that we can answer, protect the support channel, troubleshoot delivery, and meet applicable communications requirements. Text messages are transmitted by Twilio. We do not sell support information, use it for third-party advertising, or add you to an unsolicited marketing list. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages or HELP for help. See the SMS Customer Support Consent for the complete program terms.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message originator opt-in data and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. DFR may use communications providers such as Twilio only to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and comply with the support messaging program.

Do not send passwords, one-time verification codes, payment-card numbers, banking information, medical records, or other secrets through customer support. We do not need those values and will not ask for them.

Local website Receptionist

The AquaHunter Intel Receptionist uses a reviewed, deterministic public-answer set inside your browser. What you type into that chat is not sent to DFR, a remote AI provider, or a customer database, and the chat does not save it. Our hosting provider may still process ordinary connection logs needed to serve and protect the website. If a future receptionist sends or stores messages, this policy and the website must be reviewed and updated before that behavior is enabled.

2. Location, specifically

Location access is “while using the app” only. The apps do not request background or always-on location access, and they do not track your movements when the app is not in use. You can decline location access, or revoke it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services on your device. The maps, charts, reef and landmark data, and regulation reference material remain fully usable without it; only the live position, distance, bearing, speed, and ETA readouts stop working.

Where your coordinates go. We want to be precise about this rather than make a blanket claim. Your location is processed on your device to render your position and compute navigation readouts, and it is not sent to DFR — we operate no servers that receive it. However, to return a forecast or radar imagery for where you actually are, the app must tell the provider where to look. When you request weather, marine forecasts, radar, tides, or river conditions, coordinates for the relevant area are sent to the U.S. National Weather Service, NOAA, and the U.S. Geological Survey as part of that request. That is an unavoidable consequence of fetching conditions for a specific place. We send no identifier, name, or device profile with it, and we retain no copy.

Searching beyond our own listings. Our apps carry a compiled, human-checked list of places for each covered area. When you search for something that list does not contain, the app can look further out using Apple’s Maps service. Doing so sends the words you typed and the map area you are currently viewing to Apple. It does not send your name, an account, or a device profile, because the app has none of those. Apple handles that request under Apple’s Privacy Policy, not ours.

This only happens when our own listings return no match, and the results come back in a clearly separated section labeled as coming from Apple Maps — we do not vouch for businesses we have not verified ourselves. If you would rather this never happen, the app is still fully usable: our own listings, the map, the reef and landmark data, and the regulation reference all work without it.

We do not store a location history, we do not build a profile from your location, and we do not share location with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies — because we use none.

3. Third-party data providers

Our apps display public data from the sources below. When the app fetches that data, the request necessarily reaches the provider and is subject to the provider’s own policies, not ours.

We have no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no social login providers, and no third-party trackers embedded in our apps.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Subscriptions are sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using your existing Apple Account. We never see, receive, or store your payment card number, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. DFR receives only the aggregated, anonymized sales and payout reporting that Apple provides to every developer, which does not identify individual customers.

Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Full pricing, trial, and renewal terms are in our Terms of Use.

5. No tracking, advertising, or analytics

We do not track you. Specifically: we do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), we do not request App Tracking Transparency permission because we have nothing to track you with, we serve no advertising, we run no third-party analytics or crash-reporting service, and we do not link any data to your identity across apps or websites owned by other companies.

If Apple’s own App Analytics is enabled by you at the system level, Apple may provide us anonymized, aggregated statistics such as total downloads or crash counts. That data comes from Apple, is not personally identifiable, and is controlled by your device settings, not by us.

6. Storage, retention, and deletion

App settings, your acceptance of these terms, and similar preferences are stored locally on your device in standard iOS app storage. They stay on your device and in your own encrypted device or iCloud backup, if you use one.

Deleting your app-local data is simple: delete the app. Because DFR holds no server-side copy of information stored only by the app, removing the app from your device removes the app’s locally stored data. There is no app account to close. Your subscription is managed separately through Apple — see the Terms of Use for how to cancel.

Email and SMS support communications are separate from app-local data. If you voluntarily contact support, DFR and its communications providers may retain the contact information, message content, and ordinary delivery metadata needed to respond, protect and troubleshoot the support channel, and meet applicable legal or communications requirements. To ask what support information DFR holds or to request its deletion, email support@dfr.guru. Some information may remain where retention is required for security, legal, or compliance reasons.

7. Children

Our apps are boating and fishing tools intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because the apps collect no personal information from anyone and have no accounts, in-app messaging, or user-generated content, there is nothing for a child to disclose through the apps. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact us and we will address it.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to opt out of its sale or of targeted advertising — including under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not engage in profiling. Because the apps do not create accounts or send app-local information to DFR, there is generally no app record to access, correct, or delete. You can exercise complete control over app-local data by revoking location permission in iOS Settings and deleting the app. If you voluntarily contacted customer support, DFR or its communications provider may hold the support information described in Section 1. If you want to make a formal request or ask what DFR holds, contact us at the address in Section 11 and we will respond.

9. Security

The apps do not create a DFR database of app-user information. Data the app requests from third-party providers travels over encrypted HTTPS connections, and data stored on your device is protected by your device passcode and iOS data protection. Voluntary support communications are separate: DFR and its communications providers process them only for the purposes described in Section 1. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be reflected in the in-app legal text. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the revised policy. Prior revisions are available on request.
